Orange Sesame Chicken Breast with Green Beans & Brown Rice - Innit

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts 4

Canned/Bottled Goods

  • Chilli Paste 1/2 teaspoon

  • Chicken Stock 120 milliliters

Produce

  • Ginger 1/2 teaspoon

  • Orange 1

  • Green Beans 450 grams

  • Thyme 1/2 bunch

  • Garlic Clove 3 cloves

Spices

  • Salt 1 tablespoon

  • Black Pepper 3 pinches

Dry Goods

  • Brown Rice 120 grams

  • Cornflour 2 tablespoons

Pantry

  • Water 310 milliliters

  • Olive Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Soy Sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Sugar 50 grams

  • White Vinegar 1 tablespoon

  • Toasted Sesame Oil 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Toasted Sesame Seed 1 1/2 tablespoons

Preparation

  1. Boil Water

    Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to boil.

    • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
    • 310 milliliters Water
    • 1 pinch Black Pepper
    • 1/2 bunch Thyme
    • 2 cloves, smashed Garlic Clove
  2. Cover & Simmer Rice

    Add rice & reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 40 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes. Remove garlic & thyme. Fluff rice with a fork.

    • 120 grams Brown Rice
  3. Preheat

    Preheat the oven to 220C.

    Connect Oven
  4. Cook Chicken Breast

    Season chicken. Cook for 22 - 28 minutes, let rest for 5 minutes.

    TIP: Why rest? Because proteins continue to cook once removed from the oven!

    • 4, 8oz breasts Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
    • 1 pinch Black Pepper
    • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
    • 1/2 tablespoon Salt
  5. Prep Sauce

    Heat sesame oil over low heat in a medium saucepan. Add ginger, garlic, & orange peel; cook, stirring until fragrant, for about 2 - 3 minutes.

    • 1/2 teaspoon, grated Ginger
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Oil
    • 1 clove, minced Garlic Clove
    • 2 slices, freshly peeled Orange Peel
  6. Sauce Creation

    Add all ingredients to a medium bowl, stirring until cornstarch dissolves. Gradually pour into pan with ginger & garlic. Bring to a boil for 30 seconds, whisking constantly. Keep warm over low heat until ready to serve.

    • 1 tablespoon White Vinegar
    • 1/2 teaspoon Chilli Paste
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seed
    • 1, juiced Orange
    • 50 grams Sugar
    • 2 tablespoons Cornflour
    • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
    • 120 milliliters Chicken Stock
  7. Cook Green Beans

    Drizzle green beans with olive oil. Season. Cook for 10 minutes.

    • 1 pinch Black Pepper
    • 1 teaspoon Salt
    • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
    • 450 grams, trimmed Green Beans
  8. Serve & Enjoy!

    Pair with good music.
