Teriyaki Pork Meatballs - Innit

  • Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage 1 lb

Packaged Products

  • Panko Breadcrumbs 1/2 cup

Beverage

  • Sake 1/2 cup

Produce

  • Fresh Ginger 1

  • Fresh Small Yellow Onion 1

  • Green Onions 4

  • Garlic Clove 4 cloves

  • Italian Parsley 1/4 bunch

Spices

  • Chili Flakes 1 tsp

  • Mirin 1 1/2 cups

  • Black Pepper 1 pinch

  • Kosher Salt 1 tsp

Dairy & Eggs

  • Whole Milk 3/4 cup

  • Whole Egg 1

Pantry

  • Toasted Unsalted White Sesame Seed 1 Tbsp

  • Low Sodium Soy Sauce 1 1/2 cups

  • Granulated Sugar 1 cup

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 Tbsp

Preparation

  1. Preheat Oven

    Preheat the oven to 375F.

  2. Prepare Vegetables

    Prepare ingredients.

    • 1, minced Fresh Small Yellow Onion
    • 4, minced Garlic Cloves
  3. Cook Onions

    Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions and garlic for 3 minutes or until soft. Take off heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

    • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  4. Create Meatball Mix

    Mix milk and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes. Mix in onion mixture and add chili flakes, egg, salt and black pepper. Finely chop parsley and add to meatball base. Mix well to combine. Combine and mix sausage and meatball base.

    • 3/4 cup Whole Milk
    • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
    • 1 tsp Chili Flakes
    • 1 Whole Egg
    • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
    • 1 pinch Black Pepper
    • 1/4 bunch, finely chopped Italian Parsley
    • 1 lb Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage
  5. Form & Cook Meatballs

    Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Form 2 oz meatballs out of dough and arrange on prepared sheet pan. Bake meatballs for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.

  6. Prepare Teriyaki Flavor

    Chop three of the onions, reserving fourth remaining onion for garnish. Halve ginger lengthwise. Thinly slice reserved onion, set aside.

    • 4, ends trimmed, chopped Green Onions
    • 1, (1 inch) halved Fresh Ginger
  7. Create Teriyaki Flavor

    Add chopped scallions, ginger, mirin and sake to a pot. Bring to a simmer on medium-high heat. Add soy sauce and sugar, simmer for 10 minutes. Take off heat.

    • 1 1/2 cups Mirin
    • 1/2 cup Sake
    • 1 1/2 cups Low Sodium Soy Sauce
    • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  8. Combine Meatballs & Sauce

    Strain sauce into a skillet and add meatballs. Simmer, for 10 minutes, or until reduced by half and slightly thickened. Sprinkle sesame seeds and half of reserved scallions on top.

    • 1 Tbsp Toasted Unsalted White Sesame Seed
  9. Serve & Enjoy

    Arrange meatballs and sauce on a plate. Garnish with rest of reserved scallions. Serve with your favorite side, ours is rice!
