INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage

  • 4 Garlic Cloves

  • 1 Ginger

  • 4 Green Onions

  • 1 Small Yellow Onion

  • 1/4 bunch Italian Parsley

  • 1 Egg

  • 3/4 cup Whole Milk

  • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs

  • 1 1/2 cups Low Sodium Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp Chili Flakes

  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 pinch Black Pepper

  • 1 1/2 cups Mirin

  • 1/2 cup Sake

  • 1 Tbsp Toasted Unsalted White Sesame Seeds

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar

STEPS

  1. Gather Ingredients

  2. Prepare Vegetables

    Prepare ingredients.

  3. Cook Onions

    Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

    Sauté onions and garlic for 3 minutes or until soft.

    Take off heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

  4. Preheat Oven

    Preheat the oven to 375F.

  5. Create Meatball Mix

    Mix milk and breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.

    Mix in onion mixture and add chili flakes, egg, salt and black pepper.

    Finely chop parsley and add to meatball base. Mix well to combine.

    Combine and mix sausage and meatball base.

  6. Form & Cook Meatballs

    Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

    Form 2 oz meatballs out of dough and arrange on prepared sheet pan.

    Bake meatballs for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.

  7. Prepare Teriyaki Flavor

    Chop three of the onions, reserving fourth remaining onion for garnish. Halve ginger lengthwise.

    Thinly slice reserved onion, set aside.

  8. Create Teriyaki Flavor

    Add chopped scallions, ginger, mirin and sake to a pot. Bring to a simmer on medium-high heat.

    Add soy sauce and sugar, simmer for 10 minutes. Take off heat.

  9. Combine Meatballs & Sauce

    Strain sauce into a skillet and add meatballs.

    Simmer, for 10 minutes, or until reduced by half and slightly thickened.

    Sprinkle sesame seeds and half of reserved scallions on top.

  10. Serve & Enjoy

    Arrange meatballs and sauce on a plate. Garnish with rest of reserved scallions.

    Serve with your favorite side, ours is rice!
