  • 1 piece Ginger

  • 3 Green Onions

  • 1 cup Fresh Mangetout

  • 1 Yellow Onion

  • 1 Red Bell Pepper

  • 1/2 cup Dry Roasted Unsalted Peanuts

  • 1 tsp Sesame Seed Oil

  • 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seed Oil

  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Chicken Stock

  • 1/2 cup Water Chestnuts

  • 1/2 Tbsp Kosher Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 2 Tbsp White Vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar

  • 4 tsp Toasted Unsalted White Sesame Seeds

STEPS

  1. Gather Ingredients

  2. Prepare Vegetables

Prepare ginger, garlic and chili. Set aside in a small bowl.

Prepare rest of ingredients, reserving, in a small bowl, dark green part of onions for garnish.

  3. Create Flavor

Add all liquid ingredients into a small bowl.

Whisk in cornstarch followed by sugar, whisking until sugar dissolves.

  4. Create Kung Pao

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add prepared ginger, garlic and chili to skillet, then cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 minute.

Add sausage, in small pieces, and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes or until cooked through. Scoop out the meat and ginger mixture, reserve on a paper towel lined plate.

Add sesame oil and prepared vegetables to skillet, and sauté for 5 minutes or until soft.

Add prepared sauce to skillet, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes.

Season with salt, add peanuts, and return meat to pan. Mix to combine.

Lastly, add chestnuts and cilantro. Stir to combine.

  5. Serve & Enjoy

Arrange Kung Pao on a plate. Garnish with reserved green onions, sesame seeds and cilantro.

Serve with your favorite side, ours is rice!
