Spaghetti Pomodoro with Meatballs, Broccoli & Capers - Innit

Ingredients

Meat & Seafood

  • Ground Beef 3/4 pound

  • Ground Pork 3/4 pound

Dry Goods

  • Spaghetti 1/2 pound

  • Sliced White Bread 2

Pantry

  • Sugar 1/2 tablespoon

  • Olive Oil 3/8 cup

Produce

  • Broccoli 2 heads

  • Garlic 5 cloves

  • White Onion 1

  • Parsley 2 tablespoons

  • Basil 1/4 bunch

Canned/Bottled Goods

  • Pickled Caper 3 tablespoons

  • Raisin 1/4 cup

  • Canned Crushed Tomatoes 1 3/4 pounds

Dairy & Eggs

  • Milk 1/2 cup

  • Grated Parmesan Cheese 1/4 cup

  • Egg 1

Spices

  • Kosher Salt 4 teaspoons

  • Black Pepper 1/2 teaspoon

  • Crushed Red Pepper 1 teaspoon

Preparation

  1. Preheat

    Preheat the oven to 425 F. Line two sheet pans with foil.

    Connect Oven
  2. Simmer Sauce

    Prepare ingredients. Set a pan to medium high heat. Add oil; saute onion & garlic for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, simmer for 10 minutes.

    • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
    • 1/2, chopped White Onion
    • 2 cloves, minced Garlic
    • 1 3/4 pounds Canned Crushed Tomatoes
  3. Saute Garlic & Onions

    Prepare ingredients. Set a pan to medium high heat. Add ingredients & cook for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

    • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
    • 1/2, small dice White Onion
    • 1 clove, minced Garlic
  4. Soak Bread

    Soak bread in milk for 5 minutes.

    • 2, crusts removed Sliced White Bread
    • 1/2 cup Milk
  5. Season Sauce

    Season sauce.

    • 1/4 bunch, hand torn Basil
    • 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
    • 1/2 tablespoon Sugar
  6. Form & Bake Meatballs

    Transfer soaked bread to clean bowl. Add cheese, parsley, garlic-onion mixture, & egg. Mix well! Add ground meat. Season & mix again. Form into meatballs. Arrange on sheet tray. Drizzle with oil. Bake 20 minutes.

    • 1 Egg
    • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
    • 2 tablespoons, chopped Parsley
    • 3/4 pound Ground Beef
    • 3/4 pound Ground Pork
    • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
    • teaspoon, drizzle Olive Oil
  7. Roast Broccoli

    Prepare ingredients. Toss broccoli in oil with garlic, raisins, & capers. Season. Bake 12-14 minutes.

    • 2 heads, medium florets Broccoli
    • 2 cloves, sliced Garlic
    • 1/4 cup Raisin
    • 3 tablespoons, drained well Pickled Caper
    • 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper
    • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  8. Boil Spaghetti

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil; add salt. Cook spaghetti until al dente, firm to bite but not soft.

    • 1/2 pound Spaghetti
    • teaspoon Water
    • 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
  9. Serve and Enjoy!

    Add meatball back into sauce. Pair with your favorite music!
