Tuna Poke - Innit

Ingredients

  • Fresh Yellowfin Tuna 1 pound

Dry Goods

  • Long Grain White Rice 1 1/2 cups

Produce

  • Ginger 2 tablespoons

  • Cilantro 1/2 cup

  • Red Onion 1/2 cup

  • Scallion 7/12 cup

  • Avocados 1 1/2

  • English Cucumber 1/2 cup

Spices

  • Kosher Salt 1 tablespoon

  • Sambal 4 teaspoons

Packaged Products

  • Rice Wine Vinegar 1/4 cup

  • French Fried Onions 1/2 cup

Pantry

  • Sesame Oil 2 teaspoons

  • Toasted Sesame Seed 2 tablespoons

  • Light Brown Sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Soy Sauce 1/2 cup

Preparation

  1. Cook Rice

    Bring ingredients to a boil. Stir once, cover & reduce heat. Simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit with lid on for 5 minutes.

    • 1 1/2 cups Long Grain White Rice
    • 3 cups Water
  2. Make Dressing

    Add ingredients to a food processor. Blend until smooth.

    • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
    • 1/4 cup Rice Wine Vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons, peeled Ginger
    • 4 teaspoons Sambal
    • 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil
    • 2 tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
    • 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
  3. Salad Assembly

    Prepare ingredients & add to a large bowl. Reserve some scallions & avocado for garnish! Add dressing & mix well. Salt to taste.

    • 1 pound, cubed Fresh Yellowfin Tuna
    • 1/2 cup, julienned Red Onion
    • 1/2 cup, sliced on bias English Cucumber
    • 1 1/2, chunks Avocados
    • 1/2 cup, sliced Scallion
  4. Taste

    Place rice first in a platter or a bowl. Add tuna mixture. Top with avocado chunks, sesame seeds, cilantro, scallions, and fried onions.

    • 1/2, chunks Avocado
    • 1/2 cup Cilantro
    • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seed
    • 1 tablespoon, sliced Scallion
    • 1/2 cup French Fried Onions
