  1. Peel Garlic

    With the back of your chef's knife, carefully smash the garlic clove with the heel of your hand. Peel outer layer and discard.

  2. Mince Garlic

    Press the tip of the chef's knife against the cutting board to stabilize it.

    Rock the blade up and down across the garlic repeatedly without lifting or removing the tip, guiding the knife with your other hand.

    Continue chopping garlic until finely minced.
